For Women

The factors that reveal cellulite are always present, and need to be for proper and balanced body function. This is why any effective cellulite treatment can only improve the appearance, and effects will only be temporary. A long-term maintenance or lifestyle protocol must be adhered to in order for a client to enjoy the benefits of a successful treatment program.Model

v     Cellulite or trapped fat is found in 90% of the female population.

v     Cellulite has little to do with diet and exercise. Hormones primarily drive the factors that create cellulite.

v     Hormones are responsible for regulating the changes in blood flow, lymphatic drainage, fat, and connective tissue, all of which play a role in the formation of cellulite.

v     Factors that reveal Cellulite: Trapped fat, Impaired micro-circulation, Fibrotic Connective Tissue, Congested Lymphatic Fluid.

v     In women, the subcutaneous layer of fat is organized into chambers that store fat. The fibers that run vertically between the chambers become shorter thicker and more rigid which is what creates the dimpled or Chesterfield couch appearance.

v     It is fat in the reserve layer that is directly impacted by diet, exercise, and/or liposuction.

v     The reserve layer of fat lies below the subcutaneous layer of fat where cellulite is found.

v     Liposuction is the most commonly performed aesthetic surgical procedure for body contouring. This invasive technique involves the removal of fat from the reserve fat layers.  Liposuction is not typically performed in the subcutaneous fat layer where cellulite originates, mainly because of the secondary effects that can occur with treating this layer such as profuse bleeding, swelling and scarring. As a result, liposuction is not the treatment of choice for cellulite. In cases where liposuction involves the removal of large quantities of reserve fat, it can sometimes worsen the appearance of cellulite  [Ref. 1.] 1. Fodor PB. Endermologie (LPG): does it work? Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 1997; 21: 68-71.

v     Although cellulite cannot be eliminated or effectively reduced by diet and exercise, it can be rendered more responsive to other recognized methods of  cellulite reduction [Ref. 2].
